Vacation and Leave Policies

Understand the regulations on vacation and other types of leave in Andorra

Holiday leave

In Andorra, the Llei de Relacions Laborals (Andorran Labor Relations Act) regulates vacation entitlements, ensuring consistent leave practices for all employees.

Minimum Entitlement

After completing one year of continuous service with their employer, employees are entitled to a minimum of 30 calendar days of paid vacation each year, as per the Llei de Relacions Laborals, Article 109.

Pro-Rated Accrual

Employees accrue vacation leave at the rate of 2.5 days per month worked before completing a full year of service, according to the Llei de Relacions Laborals, Article 109.

Potential for More Vacation Time

There is room for negotiation between employers and employees for additional vacation time beyond the statutory minimum. This is often included as a clause within employment contracts.

Scheduling and Usage

While employers generally determine the timing of vacation leave, they must consider the employee's preferences and the operational needs of the business. Vacation leave must generally be taken within the same calendar year it is accrued.

Remember, individual employment contracts or collective bargaining agreements may provide for more generous vacation entitlements. Always consult your specific agreement or employer policy for the most accurate details.
