In Seychelles, the rules and regulations regarding vacation leave for employees are governed by the Employment Act of 1995 and its subsequent amendments.
Every employee is entitled to a minimum of 21 paid working days of annual leave for each full year of service. The leave entitlement is typically earned proportionally throughout the year of employment.
When scheduling vacation leave, employers should take into account the employee's preferred dates. The leave accrued should ideally be used within the year it is earned. However, in certain specific circumstances, unused leave may be carried forward to the next year, but this requires prior approval from the employer.

Employees are entitled to a minimum of 21 paid working days of vacation leave per year of service. This is outlined in Section 42 of the Employment Act of 1995.
Employees are entitled to paid sick leave for up to 21 days per year. This may extend in cases of longer illness or hospitalization. Medical certification is generally required after 2 consecutive days of absence.
Female employees are entitled to 14 weeks (approximately 3.5 months) of paid maternity leave. The compensation for this leave is paid by the Social Security system.
Fathers are entitled to 5 days of paid paternity leave following the birth of a child.
